ABOUT PROJECT

A few weeks ago I was visiting the TRIPLE A facilities for the first time and was deeply impressed by the enormous amount of work that a few altruistic persons are carrying out there in the benefit of abandoned animals. And all that with very few means

That is why I felt the need of doing something for this association and, as a writer, I thought of writing a book on dogs which profits will go to the TRIPLE A. So I wrote About dogs and men.

About dogs and men is a compilation of short stories telling about moving experiences that happen to human beings and their beloved pets. The leading role is always played by the dogs, so under their points of view they tell us about their experiences, their beliefs, their sorrow, their joy, their daily life, sometimes happy and wonderful, sometimes miserable.

It is my wish that this little book serves those who love dogs to strengthen their affection and appreciate even more their loyalty. I also wish that these stories help those who have not had the chance to connect with these extraordinary animals yet, to learn to love them.

Several persons from Marbella are helping out in the production of this book. The painter Agustin Casado is drawing illustrations for each story. Radio speaker Concha Montes wrote the prologue. Literary critic Sara Roma did the spelling correction. Regina Ugarte and Beryl Weima are translating the text into English and the editor Andrés García Baena (Ediciones Algorfa) will take care of the layout and printing of the book.

The Marbella Town Hall and particularly the counsellor Carmen Díaz are also actively participating in the project.

Also attached an entry with a couple of stories, one sad and one happy, to give you an idea of the online book.

Thank you very much to all, on behalf of the dogs.
